Il aurait eu comme fille naturelle, Jeanne-Élisabeth, née le 14-01-1677, Sa mère Marie-Thérèse Viel, femme d'Étienne Boyer. Marie-Thérèse Viel, avait rencontré Médard Chouard, lors d'un séjour à La Rochelle en France en 1676. Étienne Boyer dut l'adopter sur ordre du lieutenant général de la Prévoté.
