2. Anne BOURG was born about 1680 in Acadie; died on 12 Mar 1751 in Port-Royal, Acadie; was buried on 14 Mar 1751 in Port-Royal, Acadie.

Vincent married Marie Renée BRAULT, BRAUDE in 1645 in La Chaussée, Loudun, Vienne, Poitou, France. Marie was born about 1616 in La Chaussée, Loudun, Vienne, Poitou, France; died before 1678. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Stephen White has Renée Breau as the only wife of Vincent Brun with
their first daughter listed as Madeleine. However, in parentheses right
after the birth information for her is "mère: Vincende Breau." Going to
the Breaus, White lists Renée separately at the beginning and married to
Vincent Breau, as one would expect. However, right underneath the entry
he gives a note by G. Massignon:

"Un Vincent Breau est parrain de Madeleine Brun, fille de Vincent et de
Vincende (sic pour Renée) Breau (Rg La Chaussée [Poitou] 25 janv 1645).
C'est probablement le même qui suit (Les Parlers français d'Acadie. vol
I, p.53)."

Quelques-uns, sans aucune preuve, ont conclu que Vincende est la soeur de Renée,qu'elle est morte après la naissance de Madeleine, et que Vincent s'est épousé avec sa soeur Renée après sa mort. White, suivant Massignon, a conclu, au contraire, que Vincent Brun avait une seule femme: Renée, qui est la mère de sa fille Madeleine. Peut-être Renée avait-elle un deuxième nom? Peut-être le prêtre s'est-il trompé sur le nom du parrain?
