- He graduated from Newark High School in 1944, the University of Delaware in 1948 with a degree in mathematics, and a master's degree in statistics in 1953, also from UD. Following graduation, he went to work at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD for the Army at the Ballistic Research Laboratory, and later the Army Materiel Systems Analysis Activity. He traveled extensively for his job and was very proud and fortunate he was able to go to all seven continents. He retired in 1985 after a distinguished 37 year career of Federal Service to the Nation.
