    Notes:

    Après la mort de son époux en 1691, Marie lui succède comme seigneuresse de Port-Royal. Jusqu'à sa mort, elle administre activement sa seigneurie. Elle concède et vend des terres et elle est considérée comme l'une des femmes d'affaires les plus importantes de la colonie. Revendicatrice de ses droits familiaux, elle présente en 1703 une pétition au Conseil d'État du roi en France, puis une autre en 1735 au Conseil d'Annapolis Royal pour défendre ses droits territoriaux. Active dans la vie publique, Marie de Saint-Étienne de La Tour a joué un rôle important dans la vie socio-économique de la vieille Acadie
