Selon L'exilée, ses ancêtres subirent le déportement de l'Acadie. Ils ont été avertis de ce grand dérangement et s'en allèrent à travers bois avec un peu de nourriture et leurs enfants. Ils avaient tout laissé, leurs biens, terre, maison, animaux. Ils marchèrent très longtemps. Ils s'échouèrent à St-Jacques de Montcalm, appelé initialement St-Jacques-de-l'Acadie, puis devenu St-Jacques-de-l'Achigan. Et furent les fondateurs de cette paroisse.
