    Notes:

Ref : 3*19. Joachim is born of Angélique Boutin (maid in Pointe de Lévy) and of an unknown father. Here, the filiation with the parents of the mother is hypothetical. According to PRDH, who listed at the Quebec population born before 1799, there was only 9 Angélique born between 1750 and 1800. 7 are eliminated because they were dead or already married at the time of Joachim's birth. The daughter of Pierre & Cécile Gosselin, who died an old maid at the age of 77, possibly never married because she had an illegitimate son. She seems the most plausible since even if she worked at Pointe-de-Lévy, as mentioned in the baptism act, she baptized, and possibly gave birth at the age of 15, in St. Henry de Lauzon where her parents resided. The other possibility is the daughter of Michel and Agathe Boucher, couple who precisely resided in Pointe-de-Lévy, who married June 7th, 1819 with Jean Lainesse dit Laliberté at the age of 28. Out of shame, she would have choosen to baptized her son at the exact same place where the parents of the only other candidate resided. That would be a huge coincidence. The distance between St. Henri de Lauzon and Pointe de Lévy was 13 miles (21 km) at that time.

    1850-1870 cultivateur
Joachim left Canada to seek his fortune in the US, went to Massachusetts where he worked in the cotton mills. He met Martha in Massachusetts and eloped after a brief courtship settling in Windham, Vermont on a farm.
