William A. Boutin, a cleaner at the Washburn Crosby Utility Mill fell seven stories to his death last night in mill's elevator shaft. Boutang, who was 56 years old, lived at 1169 Fifth Street North. He was off duty at the time of the accident, according to the report to Mf. D.H.F. Neilsen, deputy coroner. His body was found by a watchman, E.J. Meyer. The mill is at Sixth Avenue South and First Street.

His wife think he might have been murdered for knowing some information about someone at Washburn Crosby Co. He was not supposed to work that night, but was called in. He had bruises on top of his hand and that someone might have tried to make it look like he was drunk, spilling alcohol near his locker and maybe on his clothes although no alcohol was found in his body and that his glasses were found broken at the top of the elevator shaft. His oldest son, Lawrence, who arrived on site while his father was still breathing but never regained consciousness, also worked at the company and was fired the next day. His wife was refused any pension.
