- Mr. Burns attended Rindge Technical High school and then served in the US Air Force as an Aircraft Mechanical Technician for four years. He received several commendations during his service. In November 1956, John began his long and distinguished career with Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation. During his tenure at Sikorsky he supported a variety of aircraft. He traveled throughout the US and also to India, Vietnam and Iran. Mr. Burns' career also led him to serve as the Site Manager for the Executive Flight Detachment, located in Quantico, VA. Commonly known as HMX-1, Jack supported the VH3D and the VH60N aircraft for use by Presidents Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush (41) and Clinton. He traveled extensively and circled the world many times supporting this prestigious customer. Upon his retirement from Sikorsky in 2000, he consulted on the new Presidential Helicopters being tested by Augusta Westland Bell.
